Due to the ongoing situation with coronavirus (also known as COVID-19), we have taken the decision to suspend all face-to-face support and testing services from SX, and to close our bases in Edinburgh and Inverness from today.

These changes, which will remain in place until further notice, have been made in order to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the men using our services, along with our team of volunteers and staff

Despite the suspension of face-to-face services, we want to ensure that those looking for information, advice and support with any aspect of the physical, mental or sexual health and wellbeing are still able to do so.

We will also offer support to those who wish advice around their substance use, including Chemsex, at this time.

We will continue to provide these services over phone, text, email and appswith lots more information available on this siteand through our new dedicated live chat service.

I’m looking to get an HIV or sexual health test. Where do I go?

Although we’ve had to suspend our testing clinics in Lothian, Forth Valley and Highland, we are working closely with our NHS partners to make sure people can continue to access testing.

Testing is still available from most local NHS sexual health services. You can find details of your local services from our Service Finder However it is importiant to note that the sitiuation is changing rapidly and services may change at short notice.

If you are experiencing coronavirus symptoms (high temperature or a new continuous cough), or are self-isolating because you live with someone who has these symptoms, please do not visit sexual health services.

Under these circumstances, you should follow coronavirus advice from NHS Inform.

I’m looking to get hold of free condoms. Where can I go?

As part of our service suspension, we won’t be able to do our usual condom drop offs at venues and cruising sites.

However, many NHS services will continue to make free condoms available through sexual health clinics, GP practices and pharmacies.

You can also order condoms online from freedoms-shop.com

Check out our service finder to look for venues near you (please note that these services can’t be guaranteed at this time).

When will face-to-face support be available again?

We want to get things back up and running as soon as possible but, unfortunately, can’t say when that will be just now.

The situation with coronavirus is changing on an daily basis, and we are monitoring all of the guidance and advice coming from the Scottish Government and NHS

We've made these changes to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the those using our servicesand asoon as we know it is safe to resume full services we will do so.
