We are looking to publish articles and creative work by contributors identifying as trans men who are from, or reside, in Scotland. We particularly encourage contributions from people of colour and people who are disabled.
SX is about improving the sex, health and wellbeing of gay and bisexual men, and all men who have sex with men living in Scotland. We are proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community, and we aim to reflect the diversity of the people we work with. Our ethos at SX is to be sex positive and we strive to improve the physical, sexual and mental health and wellbeing of all men who have sex with men. SX works with cis and trans men, and many other allies across Scotland.
In August 2020, SX published its first digital magazine, ‘Between the Covers’, with articles covering COVID-19 in relation to mental health, sexual health, alcohol consumption and STI / HIV testing. Issue TWO followed in October 2020 covering issues around consent and healthy relationships.
Here is a link to the first two issues of the magazine:
In October 2020, Waverley Care and Scottish Trans published the research study ‘There Needs to be Care Throughout’, exploring the access of non-binary people, trans men and trans women to sexual health services in Scotland. To coincide with this study, we would like to devote Issue THREE of ‘Between the Covers’ to trans men’s voices. We are looking to publish articles and creative work by contributors identifying as trans men who are from, or reside, in Scotland. We particularly encourage contributions from people of colour and people who are disabled.
Information on submissions
The contribution can be either approximately 500 words or 1,000 words. Longer articles will be considered if there is space in the magazine.
SX are unable to pay for any submissions received. However, we are keen to promote the work, social media and forthcoming events of any of the contributors in the magazine and on our own social media.
Please send submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org
Please state ‘Between the Covers, Issue THREE’ in the subject line of the email.
