HIV is a condition that carries around a lot of stigma – fuelled by stories from the past and myths that don’t seem to fade.

However, the truth of living with HIV in Scotland today is quite different. With effective treatments, and an early diagnosis, people with HIV can expect to live long, healthy lives.

Gay and bisexual men, and men who have sex with men, continue to be disproportionately affected by HIV and, whether you are newly diagnosed or have been living with HIV for some time, it can be a lot to deal with.

In this section, you’ll find more information about living with HIV, from support with a new diagnosis to telling other people. We’ll also be adding more information in the near future on enjoying positive sex.
